You gain resistance 5 to a specifi c type of energy, based on your elemental heritage: acid (earth), cold (water), electricity (air), orfire(fi re). You also gain a +2 bonus on saving throws against spells with the descriptor that matches your chosen elemental heritage (air, earth, fi re, or water).
